Coosa Service Overview

Coosa Behavioral Services specializes in providing therapy services based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Our staff are well-trained and highly experienced in treatment utilizing scientifically backed service models. We embed comprehensive training protocols, with near constant staff training- including a focus on trauma-informed care. We also specialize in providing school consultation services to several local school systems. This allows us to train, disseminate and intervene in classrooms to reach more clients that otherwise would be waiting years for services.

In Clinic Services

The clinical setting allows for structured teaching sessions and variation in play and learning activities.

Our clinic features two direct therapy rooms that can be split to hold multiple sessions at a time. We also have a daily living therapy room that allows clients to work on independent living skills such as washing dishes, preparing meals and setting the table, etc. The clinical setting is ideal for BCBA's to actively supervise RBT's and provides many opportunities for social skills and other unique learning needs. Located in downtown Gadsden, there are opportunities to utilize the nearby community setting for skill generalization including the library, restaurants and boutiques.

We encourage parents to sit in on sessions, but if not we have a comfortable lobby with several behavior analytic books to read over and child friendly television as well. In the near future, a parent viewing area will be available for parents to observe sessions from outside of the therapy room and see exactly how behavioral strategies are being implemented.

School Consulting

Behavioral consulting services in the school setting are beneficial for both student and staff members.

Services include conduction of functional behavior assessments (FBA) and development of behavior intervention plans. All plans are implemented and staff trained to fidelity. Classroom management strategies and support, along with direct intervention services (one on one ABA therapy) are other modalities of our services. Coosa Behavioral Services can also provide workshops for both special education and general education staff, individualized to the need of the school district or classroom.

We also specialize in providing school consultation services to several local school systems. This allows us to train, disseminate and intervene in classrooms to reach more clients that otherwise would be waiting years for services.

Community Training

We are not limited to our clinical and school consultation services.

Coosa Behavioral Services offers training opportunities for community members, businesses, educators, daycare providers, medical professionals and more. We are passionate about dissemination of Applied Behavior Analysis in a full community approach. Our dream is that our local community includes all abilities and are confident in their ability to serve. We will work with your business or staff in training individualized topics. These topics will be catered to your company, and could include anything from what is Autism? To how to best work with your employees with different needs.

Outside of autism and developmental disabilities, many of our staff are trained and experienced in a subspeciality of ABA known as Performance Management (or Organizational Behavior Management). This speciality is related to engaging staff, increasing performance and other business needs utilizing behavior analysis. We would love the opportunity to work with you and your business!

ABA Pre-K

A collaboration with local school systems to incorporate the science of behavior analysis in early education. Allowing teachers to continue to run their classrooms, with extensive support and resources from our staff. Training all staff members in the classroom, from teachers to paraprofessionals, to become registered behavior technicians. This allows every member to have an equal part in data collection, intervention, prompting, and skill acquisition.

Utilizing the principals of behavior analysis to determine appropriate reinforcement schedules, environmental variables and more! We currently collaborate with 6 different ABA PreK classrooms across our community and would love to grow this program! Are you are interested in bringing it to your school system?
